How can philanthropy and local actors reassert education as a strategic priority? What is being actively prioritized and what is being deprioritized or left behind in education across the region today, and what is driving those choices?

This session creates an intentional space to re-center education—through a Global South lens—and to reconnect funders, practitioners, and institutions committed to its transformative potential.

Co-hosted by Nathalie Renaud from Fundación Luker (Colombia) and Emilio Lopez from the Tinker Foundation (USA), this conversation invites participants from Latin America and the broader Global South to reflect on current trends, share experiences, and surface new questions.

Rather than a panel, this will be a relational, networking and interactive space focused on meeting peers, exchanging perspectives, and building connections across geographies. Participants will leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of emerging philanthropic narratives around education in Latin America
  • New relationships with funders and leaders working in and from the Global South
  • Shared reflections that can inform future collaboration and agenda-setting
